Angry Man Hires People to Damage his £276,000 Car

A furious motorist hired four men to smash up his luxury Maserati Quattroporte with sledgehammers outside a car show in protest at the company’s poor customer service.

The owner, identified only by his surname Wang, saw his £276,000 model turned into an insurance write-off at the Qingdao International Convention Centre in China at the international Auto Show.
Bang goes the warranty: Crowds gather to watch the very public complaint

A crowd of about 100 people gathered to watch as the men smashed the bodywork. It was draped in a banner accusing the Italian manufacturer of poor decision-making.

Anger among Chinese supercar owners seems to be quite common. In March 2011 the owner of a Lamborghini Gallardo hired six men to destroy his car in the city of Qindao.

The Gallardo had been bought six months previously but the engine failed to start and the owner contacted the Lamborghini dealer in Qingdao and they transported it to their maintenance centre.

The engine problem was not solved and the bumper and chassis were damaged by the transporter.

Its owner complained to the dealer but no action was taken. The owner contacted Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann, at the brand’s China HQ, its after-sales service manager for Asia-Pacific region, and the brand’s owner Volkswagen Group, but the problem was not solved.
